An African species native to Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Liberia, Nigeria, Gabon, Gulf of Guinea Islands, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Zaire, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Angola. Elevations 600-2100 m.
Intermediate to warm growing, light shade, good air movement. Distinct dry period in the winter required.
